The Loomis Union School District Chorus is a group of 4th-8th grade students from across the district. The chorus performs at various community events throughout the year.
No School on your chorus day? NO chorus.
Minimum day on your chorus day? YES, there is chorus.
Students attend practice ONE time per week, based on their school location.
Monday: Franklin & LBCS

Tuesday: Penryn and Ophir **AT PENRYN**
Room 9 at Penryn
Ophir students will be dropped off at Penryn by parents and ride the bus back to Ophir following class. See more below.
Jr. Eagle band students who also enroll in chorus will attend this rehearsal.
Wednesday: Loomis Grammar **At LGS**
Loomis Music Room (near track)
HCP GYM- On the stage
Placer Music Room
NOTE: OPHIR students will ride a bus with the Jr. Eagle band students back to their schools. A bus pass is required, but no fee is required for this service. Bus pass forms can be downloaded from the LUSD website: CLICK HERE FOR BUS PASS

This will be used for any urgent or last-minute communications - including if Mrs. Branzuela has a sick kiddo overnight.
Parents are required to sign up - text message updates are highly recommended.

Bus Pass Information for Ophir and Concert Band students:
Bus Pass Application can be located here: http://midplacer.com/index.php/students/students
Bus Pass is NO COST for music students at LUSD.
Students will be allowed to ride the bus without a pass for the first 3-4 weeks of rehearsal as the applications are being processed.
The pass application can be turned in directly to Mid-Placer or can be handed to the bus driver after rehearsal. LUSD or Mrs. Branzuela does not collect them.

Chorus rehearsals are back to normal! An email to check in if your child will miss rehearsal is always appreciated but not required. However, if it's been a few practices in a row, let me know that you are still with us! I know that there is A LOT going on with sickness and mental health. Do what you can to have your kids at practice but know that their health comes first. Don't send them when sick and if they need to take a day off to sleep in due to whatever reason, it's okay! We will get them caught up!
Our spring calendar is coming together, but there is A LOT of information pending. I'm going to go ahead and share what I have figured out with the idea that it could all change due to Covid. Right now we are planning on a formal, indoor spring concert, plus a couple of other optional events.
